Door to door fundraising
VSO Ireland is delighted to have re-launched our door-to-door fundraising programme - in partnership with Gather Campaigns.
It has been a challenging few years for us all, and indeed we are still facing some challenges. VSO remains fully committed to our Irish supporters. We are delighted to be back out in communities after years of being unable to. VSO fundraisers will be taking to people, sharing information about VSO's work, and recruiting new supporters.
Door-to-door fundraising is one of the most cost-effective ways of recruiting and engaging new regular supporters, as well as raising awareness of the work we do.
Since 2010, door-to-door fundraising has helped us raise millions of pounds in vital income. Because of the generous gifts from our supporters via direct debit we can plan for the future and offer even more support to the world’s most vulnerable and marginalised communities.
When you set up a regular donation to VSO, you become part of our long-term work to keep some of the world's marginalised and poorest girls safe and learning, give families the chance to earn a decent living for a dignified life, and empower people to hold back to account to secure their given rights and entitlements.
We work with specialist agencies who help us coordinate and carry out our campaigns. All fundraisers undergo thorough training prior to starting work and are monitored closely by us and the agency they work for.
When choosing an agency to fundraise for VSO, we undertake a rigorous procurement process to ensure they meet our standards in terms of compliance and approach to fundraising. It’s equally important to us that the fundraisers we work with are as passionate about our work as we are.
COVID-19 fundraising safety measures
All fundraisers currently working for VSO have been trained to keep to social distancing guidelines and will be provided with the necessary protective equipment and materials to ensure you feel as safe as possible.
We have made changes to the way we collect your details and are offering a contactless interaction should you wish to support us this way.

How do I know if a fundraiser is genuine?
All of our fundraisers will be trained on how to make you feel as comfortable as possible about their legitimacy as a VSO representative.
VSO door-to-door will:
- display as identification badge with an official logo, their name and a photo.
- have clear VSO branding on their clothing and supporting materials.
